Theodore X. Koinis, CFP®, AIF®
Ted Koinis is a founding partner in Helios Wealth Advisors, LLC. He brings more than 25 years of investment and planning experience, as well as a keen insight into the technologies and methods needed to provide leading edge service to our clients. Responsible for the overall experience each client enjoys with our firm, from developing retirement plans and investment proposals to monitoring the investment markets and the managers employed, Ted strives to ensure each client’s goals are being met.
Ted is an Investment Advisor Representative with Helios Wealth Advisors. By completing the requisite coursework and passing the rigorous CFP® Certification Examination in 2003 on his first attempt, Ted is authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. to use its prestigious CFP® mark and is considered a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM professional. Ted is also a member of the Financial Planning Association. In 2012, Ted furthered his fiduciary education and obtained the Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, AIF®, designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies. Both designations require numerous continuing education hours to remain current with laws, regulations and best practices within the financial planning and investment areas.
Ted is an active member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Houston, TX where he served on its Parish Council for over 15 years, having the responsibility of Treasurer for a number of those years. He also spent time advising the church’s Endowment Board and serving on the Original Greek Festival governing committee. Ted has been appointed to the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Denver’s Metropolis Council for over 10 years and is currently its Treasurer. As part of his role on the Metropolis Council, Ted was elected to represent the Metropolis of Denver on the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America’s national Archdiocesan Council, being appointed to its Finance Committee. In 2012, Ted was bestowed the highest honor for a layman in the Eastern Orthodox Church, recognizing him as an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
Ted obtained his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Houston, having concentrated in the area of Finance. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Ted lives in Pearland, TX with Pauline, his wife of 34 years. They have 3 grown children, all Texas A&M Aggies; Stacie (Veterinarian), James (Electrical Engineer), and Nicholas (Electrical Engineer). He and Pauline are blessed that their children live close by and appreciate getting to see their families grow. Ted enjoys traveling with his wife, golfing when he can, and is thrilled to spend time with his grandchildren.
